What you’ll see in a Sherpa demo
Summit Sherpa (tenant/renters insurance compliance tool) gives Canadian property teams a repeatable way to verify proof of coverage, manage exceptions, and document enforcement steps across a portfolio. Compliance is Canada-wide; insurance placement is not available in Quebec thought Summit, we do have partners to facilitate this.
Who this demo is for
-
Property management operations leaders (regional/portfolio)
-
Site teams (leasing, resident services, admin)
-
Risk / compliance leaders
-
IT / data owners supporting PMS connectivity
-
Asset management and ownership stakeholders who need audit-ready reporting
What you can do in Sherpa (product tour highlights)
During a live walkthrough, we typically show how to:
-
Configure portfolio requirements (e.g., minimum liability limit, required evidence type, renewal cadence)
-
Import/maintain resident and lease rosters (direct integrations: Yardi and Entrata; other systems via exports/webhooks where supported)
-
Review verification status and work the exceptions queue (missing proof, expired proof, mismatched unit/address, insufficient limits)
-
Document actions taken (notices sent, overrides, rejections, and rationale) for audit readiness
-
Export or share compliance summaries for owners/lenders

Suggested demo agenda (30–45 minutes)
-
Your program goals (5 min): coverage standard, enforcement posture, and current workflow
-
Data onboarding (5–10 min): what comes from PMS vs. what is captured in Sherpa
-
Verification flow (10 min): how proofs move from “submitted” to “verified” (and what creates exceptions)
-
Exception handling (10 min): review, reject, request changes, or approve with a documented override
-
Reporting and audit trail (5 min): portfolio KPIs, exports, and evidence for internal controls
-
Implementation plan (5 min): next steps for a pilot and rollout
What to bring to the demo (so it’s specific to your portfolio)
-
A list of properties and (if applicable) program variations by region
-
Your current insurance requirement language (lease clause / addendum)
-
Minimum standards (liability limit, any required additional interest wording, proof format)
-
Your PMS details (Yardi or Entrata if you want to review direct integration; otherwise confirm export/webhook options)
-
One or two redacted examples of “hard” proofs (edge cases) you want handled consistently
FAQ
Is Sherpa the same as your technical integration docs? No—Sherpa is the operational workspace for compliance and enforcement. For implementation details and payloads, see Tenant insurance webhooks & CSV and the API & integration guide.
Can Sherpa support portfolios across multiple provinces? Yes. Compliance is Canada-wide; insurance placement is not available in Quebec.
What will you need from IT? Typically: access to PMS exports or credentials for a direct integration (Yardi/Entrata), a secure destination for exports, and (if used) a webhook endpoint as described in the existing integration docs.
Can we run a pilot first? Yes—most teams start with a single community or a subset of buildings before rolling out portfolio-wide.
